Greek Attic White Ground Lekythos

   Elegant Attic lekythos painted with a frieze of three palmettes on white ground.
   Such lekythoi were probably intended solely as grave offerings.

   Intact except for a few insignificant chips which have been filled.

   Provenance: Ex. collection Helen Schou, Denmark 1905-2006. Acquired at auction (Winkel & Magnussen) in 1933. Ex. British art market.
