Hellenistic Greek Terracotta Head of a Young Boy
 

 

 

   A fine moulded pottery head of a young boy or Erote with incised and applied details.

   The head is finely detailed and adorned with an elaborate hair-arrangement including a central double-braid which is usually indicative of a young male figure.

   Visible lacks, supplied with a wood display block.

 
   Material : Terracotta, some encrustations and engoba
   Dimensions : H. : 5,8 cm
   Provenance : Ex. British art market, ex. Christie's London April 2008, from a private collection, Germany. Acquired 1960's / 1970's.
   Origin : Hellenistic Greece
   Period : I c. BC
